Yes: Choose the Hercules System
This system has a standing seam design and no screws penetrate the sheet allowing for a guaranteed waterproof cover for ten years. We recommend this system if your pergola will be covering electronics, furniture, or an outdoor kitchen.
Yes: Choose the Hercules System
The Hercules System is rated for snow loads of 40psf with the correct structural support. If you live in the northeast or upper midwest, this is the system for you. The Hercules System panels have a four wall design while the Apollo System is just double walled.

If you live along the coast, the Hercules System is your best option. It is rated for wind speeds up to 125mph.
Yes: Choose the Apollo System
We completely understand that projects go over budget, especially with rising material costs (looking at you lumber). The Apollo System is an effective cover that usually is about $5 per square foot less than the Hercules.
We can advise on what, if any, modifications are needed for your existing structure. Here are the structural requirements of both systems to get an idea if your structure is good to go or if some work needs to be done.
Slope: 2% or 1" of slope for every 48" of length. If your pergola is flat, we recommend adding shims.
Ideal Structure: Stripping (purlins) or shade slats
Potential modification: Joists (rafters) - The width of the Hercules panels cannot be cut down. If the joists are the incorrect distance apart, you will have to remove them and re-install at the exact sheet width or add stripping / shade slats.
Avoid: Turret - Use the Apollo System. The Hercules panels cannot be cut down to the triangle shape needed.
Install: Easiest install - recommended for DIY homeowners.
Slope: 4% or 1" of slope for every 24" of length. If your pergola is flat, we recommend adding shims.
Ideal Structure: Stripping (purlins) or shade slats
Potential modification: Joists (rafters) - To avoid sagging panels, joists should be spaced 16"-24" apart. If they are wider than that, you will have to add additional joists or cross bracing.
Install: Handy homeowners could install, but there is more room for error when compared to the Hercules System.
Both systems are available in bronze, clear, and ice white. Visually, the Hercules System has a standing seam when you are looking at it from above, and the Apollo System is flat.
