SkyLift Roof Risers are a tough, reliable way to tie in a pergola—whether it’s a new build or an existing one. They attach through the roof to the exterior wall’s top plate, keeping your pergola off the shingles and protecting your roof.

The only real difference is how the saddle connects to the riser column. Most customers go with the 12″ Designer because it leaves a smaller gap between the bottom of the riser or beam and the roof or gutter. The 18″ version comes into play when the roof pitch is too steep for the 12″ to work—it simply isn’t tall enough in those cases.

As long as you use a flashing and install it according to the roofing manufacturer’s instructions, your roofing warranty will still be valid. In the roofing industry, shingle manufacturers offer an optional “certified roof” category for installers. These certified installations require the use of manufacturer-approved flashings. The good news? SkyLifts can be installed with any pipe vent flashing as long as it follows the manufacturer’s instructions and certification guidelines.

Nope! Not at all on properly installed shingles. A roof pipe vent flashing is usually covered by two rows of shingles at the top and one row underneath at the bottom, creating a secure seal to prevent any moisture damage or leaks.

The heavy duty SkyLifts and flashing come with a 50-year warranty, and the best part? You can reuse them when it’s time to reroof!

High Winds: A high-wind area is typically considered anything with a 120 mph wind rating. SkyLifts have been used in these kinds of conditions, but it’s important to make sure the structure is properly engineered to handle strong winds and tough weather.

Snow: Each SkyLift is rated for 2,500/lbs and can handle heavy snow loads.
